Antique / Vintage Style Spanish Revival Galleon Hexagonal MICA Pirate Lamp Shade
Just completed September 1, 2019. This shade took me three days and twenty three years experience to make. The composition is mica and layered decoupage with several difficult glaze and hand painting treatments. This is the first and only one so far I've made exactly like this with metallic decoupage. The decoupage is done in a Gold. Finish with an orange-peel leathery translucent background. The panels are all framed in patinated leaded brass trim. The spider is made of 1/4 bar stock that is bronze welded to the washer and riveted into the shade becoming part of the framework. This shade is signed on the washer, rib, and with a soldered in copper tag stamped with my hallmark. I've included two pictures of the shade on a base (not included in this shade only sale) it measures 26.5 tall to where the washer rests. This shade measures 9" top x 17" bottom measured flat panel surface to flat panel surface and is 11 tall vertical (not on the taper). 10" top x 20" bottom corner to corner measurement.
