Pair Vintage Germany Black Forest Carved Wood Hunter & Stag Lamps & Shades

  

Being offered is a Nice Pair (2) of Vintage German Black Forest Carved Wood Hunter & Stag Table Lamps & Shades. Plastic stag horns marked GERMANY.

The lamps & shades are in good condition with some expected minor wear. I cleaned, buffed, & polished the existing finish. There are tiny paint splatters on one side of one of the shades which can be turned to the back or one could pick them off......

They have been rewired and new turn-knob switchs installed. It is hard to find a new socket, other than porcelain, that will work with the existing shade harp. I disassembled the sockets(not much to it) and clean them and they are in good operating condition. The hunter & stag figures are in good condition. Felted pads on bottom of bases. The shade lining fabric is discolored where exposed through the shade design. The fabric is adhered to the wood but is easily removed if one wants to replace it. The harp is very slug around the socket and I find it easier to screw the harp on and off of the socket rather than sliding it on and off.

There is a set screw on the back side of the collar to tighten and help keep the harp in position & level. One just has to fiddle with the shade to level it. Height to Top of Wood Column: Hunter = 18 3/8" Stag = 18 5/8". Height to Top Of Finial: Hunter = 29 1/4" Stag = 29 5/8". Height to Top of Finial = 29. Bases: Hunter = 11 1/4" Wide x 7 31/4" Deep x 1 1/2 Thick. Stag = 11 3/8" Wide x 7 1/2" Deep x 1 1/2 Thick. Hexagonal Shades = 10 3/8 Tall. Bottom Edge Side to Side = 17 5/8. Corner to Corner = 20 1/4. The hunter, stag & leaf clusters (all wood pegged in place) will be removed and packed with lamp bases.
