Vintage Maria Kipp lamp shade found a local estate sale in Studio City Ca. Kipp was an iconic textile engineer/ designer.

Used in the Beverly Hills Hotel, Air Force One, The Mormon Temple and several homes of Hollywood. Resides in the collection of Museums. In New York, Copper Hewitt. Very good vintage condition with mild wear from age. Please enlarge the photographs for a detailed. The dimensions are "14"high x " 17.5"wide. Women designers working in mid-century America. Today: Maria Kipp, a textile engineer and designer who led her own successful company, Maria Kipp, Inc.

In Los Angeles from 1926 through the 1977. Her hand-woven textile designs used for draperies, upholstery and lampshades were specified by some of the most famous modernist designers. Now that Ive discovered vintage Maria Kipp textiles and lampshades, I understand why.
