Vintage Mid Century Tension Pole Floor Lamp 1950s/60s Plastic Shades Gold Metal
Vintage mid century tension pole lamp, probably 1950s, maybe 1960s. If you notice in the picture the lamp is not standing perfectly upright, I have 7 1/2 ft ceilings and the lamp needs more room, probably 8 ft or a bit higher ceiling to fit properly. The length of the lamp when fully extended is between 102" - 103". Lamp has a great look with great looking shades.
The shades are plastic but in very nice condition, with no cracks or breaks. They are also very clean inside with no brown marks or stains from the bulbs.
Each light has its own off/on switch at the top of the light and two of the three have this switch covered with a wooden finial which pops off easily to turn the switch on/off. The pole consists of 4 pieces, 3 of which are gold metal and the fourth piece may be metal underneath but has been wrapped in a vinyl like material with a faux wood look to it. Here are the issues I will mention: the metal areas show varying signs of color with age appropriate wear to the finish, there are some wrinkled areas in the vinyl wrap, one of the black switches on top of the shade is missing the top half but can still be used to turn the light off and on, one shade is missing the top wood finial, the top white cap which goes against the ceiling is very well worn and ready to break apart, I would hope this piece could be replaced if you choose. All of these areas can be seen in the photos so please use the zoom feature to check all areas.A great looking lamp that shows very well.
