Vtg 1950s Majestic Table Lamp Fiberglass Shades Retro Mid Century Modern Atomic

  

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an original large vintage Majestic table with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp dates back to the 1950s.

The round base is lacquered in black paint, and there are radiating brass arms that end at staggering heights. The brass arms, with the shades attached, give the lamp a tree-like appearance. The shades are an off-white color, and they have random white filament material throughout (see photos).

The lamp has an on/off rotary switch on the base, and it allows the lamp three-way functionality: either one shade can lite up independent of the other, or the opposite two shades, or all three at once. Measurements: With the shades attached, the lamp stretches approx. The distance from the bottom of the base to the uppermost shade is approx.

27.5" tall, the middle shade - 19" tall, and the lowest shade - 11 tall. Each of the shades is approx. 5" in height x 12" in diameter. The round black lacquered base has a diameter of approx. Condition: Good, all- original vintage condition.

The brass arms show a gentle patina commensurate with age. The round black lacquered base shows scratch marks and paint loss (see photos) - it can be touched up or left alone - we choose to leave it in the condition in which we acquired it. The fiberglass shades are in very good condition - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, burns, etc. The lacing is original to the shades.

As can be expected with age, the lacing has become brittle over time and has some breaks in it in various places (see photos). It can easily be replaced, if desired. The holes that the lacing goes through are all intact and don't show any breaking to the fiberglass. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order.
