This listing includes FREE UK P&P. This is a really stunning pair of 1960s or 70s cased art glass lamp shades which comes complete with ceiling fittings. The shades themselves are a wonderful bulbous retro bottle shape and are possibly hand blown. In a thick glossy orange glass with white cased glass inside. Probably Danish or Swedish with this stylish period 1960s or 70s Scandinavian design quality. They have a cork shaped toppers in dark stained teak which finish them off beautifully. The plastic ceiling roses are pretty standard and the bulb holders are designed for a standard British BC22 bayonet cap bulb.

But they come with the most ingenious shade holder, of a kind I have never seen before! The 3 wings on the side flip upwards to make a narrow cylinder which can drop through the narrow bottleneck of the shades but once inside you can spread them out like an umbrella and the hold the weight of the shade!

Incredibly simple yet so functional and definitely rare, I could really use some more of these! An ideal for any retro room or a great gift for any vintage lover. They might also be the perfect prop for and TV, film or stage production set in the Mid Century period. They would look great in a hallway, bedroom, dining room, or living room, and would just as look smart in a modern minimal room with clean lines as they would in a bright retro designed room. There are only very minor signs of age and use to the shades and some decorating stains to the plastic roses.

But please remember they are at least 40 years old and have been used in the past. You will need a qualified electrician or an experienced amateur to fit to your electrics. It is UNTESTED electrically, but they have a very simple wired bulb which anyone able to fit should find straightforward to rewire if necessary.

They are set up to be used with a British/European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains they will need adapting in any case. The shade holder can be fitted to any similar width of wire though. Approx measurements of glass shades: 27 cm tall x 16 cm max diameter (10½" x 6¼").
