Design, these lamps are for you. Cords have been replaced, but every other piece and part is all original -from Finials to Bakelite plugs.

Their curvaceous black bases gleam and the sexy, glowing red lampshades are absolute show stoppers. BASE DESIGN: This fine pair of high gloss black ceramic lamps is ready for Hollywood.

Their abstract sculptural style features dramatic and fluid waves, curls, layers and curves. Both have felted bases for surface protection, although the green surface on one of them has worn off. SHADE DESIGN: The sides of these dramatic drum (aka barrel) shades are curtained with two layers of sheer, pleated, red plastic fabric. They are not covered with fabric -they are entirely constructed of it - t. Hrough which the light penetrates freely. With the lamps' three-way bulb capability, the resulting red glow varies in intensity at each level. The top layer is divided into eight sections, each of which is gathered and cinched (pinched) in two places.

Chenille stem (otherwise known as pipe cleaner) hold each pinch pleat together and in place. The scalloped edges around the top and bottom are fairy unusual for this type of shade. This detail echos the fluid, wave-like curves that characterize the base. The scalloping is trimmed along both edges with 1/2 gold gimp. MECHANICS & HARDWARE: Shades attach to the lamps with their original harps and screw-on finials.

Long-neck style, round authentic Bakelite plugs. Each of the two plug prongs is marked with the General Electric logo.

As referenced above, the lamp cords have been replaced. The three-way socket controls atmosphere and utility. The first turn of the switch = ON at the lowest light level. This changes to medium, high and OFF with each subsequent turn. Note: we cannot send light bulbs with the lamps, because.

OVERALL DIMENSIONS: 29.5" tall x 14" wide x 14 deep. The base footprint measures 6" x 4". CERAMIC BASE DIMENSIONS: 13" tall x 6" wide x 4 deep.

SHADE DIMENSIONS: 16" tall with a 12" top diameter and 14 diameter at bottom. HARDWARE DIMENSIONS: Harp is 10.5" tall with 1" tall.

5 Pounds 3.2 Ounces. The set added panache to their very Mod bedroom decor where they flanked the couple's black-silk-covered bed.

These authentic MCM lamps are all. Original except the cords which were replaced for safety.

Ceramic bases have only the tiniest nicks in a few places - please see the magnified photo attached. Crazing; hairline cracks; discoloration/fading or repairs.

Please see the magnified example provided. The black glossy finish really shines. Shades have no tears; misshapen or missing components; fading/discoloration; marks/spots or repairs. Gimp trim is securely attached.

Lamp is covered with felt to protect table surfaces - one is still green, but the color has worn off the other. Both lamps stand perfectly level.

New cords are damage-free and Bakelite plugs are fully intact and functional. VERY clean and completely odor free. Ready to use, display, admire and be admired.
