Pair Vintage Mid Century 1950's Majestic Z Sculpture Lamps with Fiberglass Shades

  

This is a pair of original vintage mid-century (1950's) sculpture lamps, similar to Majestic Z in style, but these are chalkware or plaster. All four original fiberglass shades are intact. Both lamps are in very good condition with a few areas of damage from age and use.

Three of the four shades have a piece of tape across the seam near the bulb opening (all shown in the photos). Two of those have very small visible cracks under the tape and the other has no visible cracks, but all three are still solid and sturdy and the tape is only for reinforcement. Some of the brown decorative stitching around the bulb holes is loose as well. All stitching around the top and bottom edges of the shades is intact. There are a couple very tight (almost invisible) cracks in the plaster on the lamps, but nothing is loose and both lamps are sturdy and solid overall. The bases have been re-painted, only evident by some black paint around the cords where they exit the lamp, and it is unclear whether the off-white paint is original. There is very little to no wear to the paint anywhere. Both lamps have three-way switches on the base and both have been tested. The switch on one lamp is fully functional but the other lamp switch will only operate the bottom bulb.

The wires, cord, and socket look good and the wires all appear to be connected properly, so the switch is probably bad. The switch is embedded in the plaster, so it will take some work to replace.

The lamps measure 16" L x 10" W (at the shades) x 24 H. The shades are 10 in diameter.
