The second lamp (on the right in the pictures) has a very unique base of brass and marble. The bottom piece is a 5"x 5" piece white marble with black streaks running through the marble.
The second piece from the bottom is a rather flat polished brass plate with a beautifully imprinted design. Next is another smaller piece of the same marble (3"x 3"). Next we have the polished lamp, again configured to look like an oil lamp, followed by the actual porcelain hand painted shade.
This piece has a multi-colored base. The hand painted pink roses and green leaves make for a excellent contrast to the base colors. As noted in one of the pictures, this shade has small chip is covered by the brass holder and does not show when placed in the lamp. For their age, both of these pieces are in excellent condition and have been in a smoke free house for the past 26 years. Lamp #1 (lamp on the left in the pics): 32.5" tall (to the top of finial); the base is 6.5 inches wide at the base; and, the lamp is 18" from the bottom of the base to the bulb socket. LamP #2 (lamp on the right side of the pics): 21.5" tall; 5" wide at the base; and 15 from the bottom of the base to bulb socket. You are purchasing two vintage hand-painted lamps.
