Vintage 50s Majestic Lamp Fiberglass Shades Retro Mid Century Modern Atomic Era

  
For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage majestic table lamp with its original accompanying dual double-tiered fiberglass shades. Materials: the base is constructed of black lacquered wooden accents, and brass tubing. The two shades are made of fiberglass with lanyard lacing. They are nicotine in color, with green, white and gold random horizontal paint stripes throughout.

Measurements: the lamp stands approx. 32.5" tall (to the finial of the upper shade), and 29.5" tall (to the finial of the lower shade). With the shades attached, the measures approx.

The distance from the bottom of the base to the upper light socket is 24.5", and the lower socket 21". The base measures 13.5" wide x 6" deep x 1.5 tall. The round black disc measures 2.75 in diameter.

Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 8.5" tall, with the upper tier having a diameter of 11", and the lower tier having a diameter of 14. Condition: Both the base and the two shades are in very good, all-original condition given their age. The base does show age appropriate wear. The brass shows a nice patina commensurate with age. The small brass cylinder directly behind the on/off knob shows some splits on it (see photo), as well as a little tarnising on its reverse side. It doesn't really detract, and if you are handy, you can probably take the lamp apart and swap out that brass piece for another - we'll leave that up to you.

The black lacquered wooden accent pieces show some minor paint loss and there are a few spots towards the bottom where it was touched up at some point in time. Again, doesn't really detract, but it is being mentioned for accuracy. Both of the fiberglass shades are in great shape - no dents, dings, rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. All of the lacing is there, and it appears to be original. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in very good condition - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc.

As with all vintage lighting, we'd recommend having it checked by a licensed professional prior to long term use. Both parcels will be fully-insured for the final sale value of the lamp.
