Vintage Germany Black Forest Carved Wood Deer or Stag Lamp & Shade. New wiring

  

Being offered is a Vintage German Black Forest Carved Wood Deer or Stag Table Lamp. Plastic stag horns marked GERMANY. The lamp is in good condition. I cleaned, buffed, & polished the existing finish. It has been rewired and a new turn-knob switch installed.

It is hard to find a new socket, other than porcelain, that will work with the existing shade harp. I disassembled the socket(not much to it) and clean it and it is in good operating condition. There are a few small spots on the base where the finish has been chipped....

The stag is in good condition. The leaf cluster that is pegged into the wood column was missing so I made a rubber mold from another identical leaf cluster and cast this one of a wood resin product and finished it to match the original one.... The weight of the cast one is the only difference from the wood ones. Felted pad on bottom of base.

The shade is in good condition with minor expected wear and the lining fabric is in fairly good clean condition. The fabric is adhered to the wood but is easily removed if one wants to replace it.

The harp is very slug around the socket and I find it easier to screw the harp on and off of the socket rather than sliding it on and off. There is a set screw on the back side of the collar to tighten and help keep the harp in position. Height to Top of Wood Column = 18 3/8.

Height to Top of Finial = 29. Base = 11 1/4" Wide x 7 3/8" Deep x 1 1/2 Tall. Hexagonal Shade = 10 1/8 Tall.

Top Side to Side = 7 7/8", Corner to Corner = 9". Bottom Edge Side to Side = 16 7/8", Corner to Corner = 19 3/8". The stag & leaf cluster (both wood pegged in place) will be removed and packed inside shade. 6 Pounds + 2 Ounces.
