Vintage Majestic Lamp Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern Retro 50s Atomic Era

  
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a Majestic table lamp with matching cylindrical fiberglass shades. The lamp dates back to the 50s.

Materials: Brass, Black Lacquered Wood, Fiberglass, Electrical wiring. The fiberglass shades are beige in color, and they both have random turquoise and gold paint swirls throughout. The shades are of the clip-on variety. The on/off knob has three-way functionality - either one or the other of the two shades can light up independently, or both can be set to stay lit at the same time.

21.75" to the top of the upper shade, and 20" to the top of the lower shade. The lamp has a width of 22.5 from side to side (measured from wing to wing). The distance from the bottom of the base to the round brass ball at the center between the two shades is approx. The black lacquered base measures approx.

9" wide x 6.5" deep x 2 thick. The black lacquered triangular wedges each measure approx. 11.25" long x 2.25" tall (at the center) x 2 deep. Each of the fiberglass shades measures 9.5" tall x 6" in diameter.

Condition: Given its age, we'd say the lamp is in pretty good condition. The brass components show a gentle patina commensurate with age, but there is no pitting, rust, oxidation, dents, dings, etc. The black lacquered accents, as well as the base, are in good shape. There is very minimal paint loss to the base.

In those areas it can be easily touched up, if desired, or just left alone. We choose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired as it displays well as it is. The fiberglass shades are in decent shape. There are some mild creases which should come out with a gentle steaming. The lacing appears to be intact.

No rips, holes, tears, stains, burns, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it's in great shape - no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we strongly recommend having the wiring check by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. The original green felt is still attached to the bottom, but it is coming loose.
