This listing includes FREE UK P&P. This is a really wonderful 1960s or 70s cased art glass lamp shade which comes complete with it's ceiling fitting.

The shade itself is stunning bulbous retro bottle shape and is possibly hand blown. It is probably Danish or Swedish with this stylish period 1960s or 70s Scandinavian design quality. It also has a cork shaped topper in dark stained teak. The plastic ceiling rose is pretty standard and the bulb holder is designed for a standard British BC22 bayonet cap bulb.

But it comes with the most ingenious shade holder, of a kind I have never seen before! The 3 wings on the side flip upwards to make a narrow cylinder which can drop through the narrow bottleneck of the shade but once inside you can spread them out like an umbrella and the hold the weight of the shade! Incredibly simple yet so functional and definitely rare, I could really use some more of these! An ideal for any retro room or a great gift for any vintage lover. It might also be the perfect prop for and tv, film or stage production set in the 60s or 70s.

It would look great in a hallway, bedroom, dining room, or living room, and would just as look smart in a modern minimal room with clean lines as it would in a retro designed room. There are only very minor signs of age and use to the shade and some decorating stains to the plastic rose. But please remember it is at least 40 years old and has been used in the past.

You will need a qualified electrician or an experienced amateur to fit to your electrics. It is UNTESTED electrically, but this is a very simple wired bulb which anyone able to fit should find straightforward to rewire if necessary. It is set up to be used with British/European 220/240 volt domestic power circuit, so if you are from a country with 120 volt mains it will need adapting in any case.

The shade holder can be fitted to any similar width of wire though. Approx measurements of glass shade: 26 cm tall x 23 cm max diameter (10¼" x 9").
