These lamps were originally designed for use during a popular card game called "Bouillotte, " with the low-slung shade specifically meant to shield players' eyes from the glare while illuminating the card table. Design Style: It features a traditional three-arm candelabra base made of heavy brass, often characterized by its "clover form" footing. The Shade: The lamp is topped with a distinctive "faux burl" or marbled parchment shade. The shade has a cream or gold tortoiseshell appearance.
Craftsmanship: Stiffel is highly regarded for its precise craftsmanship and durability, with many of their vintage pieces featuring high-quality brass plating.
