W/ Large Crackle Glass Ruffled. Superb Art Deco Tri Nude Lady Lamp w/ Large Amber Crackle Glass Ruffled Trumpet Shade, signed and dated under the base by A. The deco lamp features 3 Standing Nude Ladies holding up a supportive ring of ribbon. The base of the footed lamp has a decorative floral-and-vine design on top of the flat base that the ladies stand on, with a scotia-moulding design around the edge. It is made of heavy cast lead alloy with its original silver-plated finish.
Rehberger Company later known as A. Limited began foundry operations in Chicago in 1912.
They were one of only two firms in the U. Which specialized in hand-molded, handcrafted metal sculptural figurines in the early part of the 20. Cast in lead or zinc and plated in silver, brass or copper, the myriad of items produced varied. Over 3000 different items were produced through the 1920's - paperweights, bookends, desk sets, lamps, ashtrays, nameplates, sports trophies and collectors' items were all created by Rehberger. Including the first Oscar statuette in the 1920s!
During the 1930's, Rehberger had another series of successes, beginning with producing hundreds of cast metal souvenirs for the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. At the same time, the firm was gaining popularity for its cast metal coin banks and miniature buildings produced as giveaway promotions for banks and financial institutions. But perhaps their most famous & most highly desired items - even coveted to this day, were the making their famous replica Airplane Series of Lamps, Display Models, Clocks, & Ashtrays for desktops across America; like the Boeing 247, the Douglas DC-3, and the Boeing B-314 Clipper, to name a few. This Unique & Hard-to-Find Rehberger Art Deco Tri Nude Lamp is All Original, except for the wiring & lamp socket which have been replaced. That includes the Mazda 25W tube light bulb, which gets the glass shade rather warm at the base, so I have been using a 2W LED which burns very cool yet gives out the same light output.
The lamp base measures 8-1/2" in diameter by 12-1/2" high (without the shade). The Crackle Glass Trumpet Shade itself measures 2-1/8" in diameter at the bottom and 7-1/2" in diameter at the top and is 11-3/8 tall.Together the overall lamp height is 15, weighing in at just under 12 lbs. Very Cool Art Deco Lamp, considering its age of 95 years old, is exceptional!
It does have some silvering loss, which can be expected from being handled over the years, but the shade is perfect with only a tiny fleck on the fitter end which can't be seen. So the Overall Condition is VG++. Or you can simply'Make An Offer' if you like, as any reasonable offer will be seriously considered!
