Thank you so much for your interest and taking a look at this item! Exact measurements can be seen in the photos. Please zoom in and look closely at all photos for best idea of overall condition and the most accurate description. This pair of lampshades is very rare and is in great condition considering its age!
The set dates to the 1950's and is totally hand painted on silk. It is the largest of this type of Japanese silk painted lampshade I have ever found or seen. The image in the front includes a beautiful background of mountains behind the lake with boats and a pagoda and trees up front.
There are birds in the air and gold accents on the black and white art work. There is also a nice smaller mountain scene on the back of each lampshade too. Each lamp has some light marks or stains-relatively not very noticeable but I have included close up photos of every small area I saw with slight flaws so you can see them. Also there is one small hole on the upper inside of the lampshade, probably about the size of a pencil eraser, and that is also shown in one of the photos.Otherwise this pair is quite breathtaking in its beautiful artwork and historical condition and era!
