Up for consideration is a set of two (2) funky vintage HAWAIIAN BALINESE BALI DANCING HULA GIRL Moss Spinner Motion Table Lamps circa 1950s. Large and original with a rare parchment shade with gold fibers. Lamps are made of Lucite with the Bali girl painted ceramic figurines that were by Yona who worked with California artist Hedi Schoop.
Also known as "spinner" lamps because the statues rotate. Each lamp stands 33 inches tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial. The lamp bases and finials are made of white Lucite. The back panels are splattered with gold and framed with gold plastic trim (columns). Each figure is ceramic and stands 12 inches tall. The shades are a rare hard to find parchment with gold specs and trimmed in cloth. In addition to the overhead light, the platform of the bases each have two (2) small bulbs that light as well, with a separate switch. Also underneath the platforms are where the motors mount. The overhead light, the platform light or the rotating ladies can be run all together or separately. Both lamps light up fine, but only one lamp spins. The other lamp is missing the motor (see detail photo - the round silver disc inside the box is the motor). The lamp with the missing motor also has a split in one of the plastic columns, which has been repaired. This is very minor and one has to look hard to see the repair.
Everything else is in absolutely MINT condition - the shades are perfect, the figures are perfect and the Lucite is perfect. These will be packed with special care and sent fully insured.
